Police: Driver stole livery cab from Key Food parking lot in Flatlands

A livery cab was stolen as the owner was loading groceries into the trunk in Flatlands, police say.

A livery cab was stolen as the owner was loading groceries into the trunk in Flatlands, police say.
Surveillance video shows the suspect walking into the parking lot of the Key Food on Ralph Avenue and Flatlands Avenue toward a car in front of the store while the driver is loading a passenger’s groceries into the trunk on April 16 at around 6 p.m.
The video then shows the suspect climbing into the driver’s seat.
The owner of the cab tries to stop him, but the accused robber drags him a few feet with the door still open and pulls out of the parking lot.
Police tell News 12 the vehicle was found with some damage in East New York on Schenck Avenue Wednesday at around 5 p.m.
News 12 is told the owner of the car suffered some cuts and bruises, but is expected to be OK.
