Two people, including an off-duty police officer, were found dead in an apartment Monday, police said.

Investigators said the pair was already dead when they arrived at 3611 Henry Hudson Parkway West. A 40-year-old off-duty male police officer died of a gunshot wound to the head, and a 19-year-old woman was also found dead, police said.

Police did recover a firearm at the scene. No more details were immediately available.
