Police say they have identified and charged the driver linked to a high-speed car crash in
Bensonhurst that left two people dead and several others injured on Monday.
Around 1 p.m. Monday, a white Toyota Camry blew past a red light and crashed into a black car at the intersection of 18th Avenue and 64th Street, then hit a third car. Two people were killed, and four others were rushed to the hospital.
Authorities say the driver of the Toyota Camry, 49-year-old Vitaliy Konoplyov, is now facing several charges that include aggravated unlicensed operator.
Three victims are in critical condition. The other two injured people are expected to recover.
