Police have identified the man involved in a shootout with police following an attempted robbery in Canarsie on Tuesday.
Police say they have arrested 45-year-old Clarence Little on charges of attempted murder, attempted assault, and resisting arrest, among other charges.
According to officers, police responded to a call from a Dollar Tree store where Little allegedly pulled out a gun and tried to rob the store before running off.
That's when officers arrived, wrestled him to the ground and then the shots rang out.
Officials say Little fired first, then police returned fire hitting him in the neck and sending him to the hospital in critical but stable condition.
