Police say a woman was killed, and a two people are in critical condition after an assault at a home in Massapequa Friday night.
Police say two women, a 22-year-old and 29-year-old were stabbed by a 34-year-old man, who then tried to kill himself but was unsuccessful.
Officers responded to a call at the house on North Manhattan Avenue just before 7 p.m.
One neighbor told News 12 he heard cries for help as he walked outside his house.
All three were taken to nearby hospitals, where investigators say the 29-year-old woman was pronounced dead. They say the 22-year-old woman and the 34-year-old man remain in critical condition.
Friends and close sources tell News 12 the 34-year-old man is a well-known Long Island poker player.
Nearby residents also say they’ve seen police respond to the home multiple times before.
Police have not released the names of the victims yet.
