Police: Bronx commuter wanted for spraying MTA employee in the face with 'an unknown substance'
yesterdayPolice say a man was arrested in connection to a woman’s body found inside a plastic container in Highbridge on Friday.
Authorities say the body of 35-year-old Nisaa Walcot was found in the container on University Avenue just before 2 p.m.
Police say 21-year-old Khalid Barrow is in custody and faces murder charges.
The NYPD says it received a call someone needing help. When officers arrived, they found Walcott in a plastic container and declared her dead.
The cause of Walcot's death and the motive for her murder is still unknown, and police have not said what the connection between Walcot and Barrow is.
Neighbors say its unsettling knowing this happened down the road from where they live.
"I walk here all the time by myself, I walk my dog around 10 o'clock and I never think, 'Oh, this is a dangerous place.' I always feel safe walking around here," said resident Vanessa Marte.
