A man was killed in a shooting Saturday night in Soundview, officials say.

Police were called to the scene at 1140 Wheeler Ave. just before 10 p.m., News 12 is told.

They say they found 22-year-old Melshawn Cook with a gunshot wound to his torso, and that he was unconscious and unresponsive.

Cook was transported to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made.
