Police: Hit-and-run by city bus in the Bronx leaves man in critical condition

Police say a 62-year-old man was hit by a bus Tuesday night on Morris Avenue and critically injured.

Police say a 62-year-old man was hit by a bus Tuesday night on Morris Avenue and critically injured.

The NYPD says it received a call at East 139th Street and Morris Avenue saying a man had been trying to cross the street around 6:30 p.m. when a city bus ran him over and kept on driving.

Surveillance footage released by police shows the moments the man was hit by the BX21 bus.

He was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where he is being treated for severe injuries to the leg.

No arrests have been made at this time.
