One man was sent to the hospital and another man was arrested for carrying a gun on Monday after a police-involved shooting.
News 12 has been told that there was some type of dispute between the two individuals.
The incident happened in Prospect Lefferts Gardens just before 6 p.m. on Lenox Road.
Police say they received several 911 calls of an armed man in the street. When they arrived, they say they found a man holding a gun, but he didn't match the description described given in the 911 calls.
The man was arrested, and his gun was confiscated. As officers were taking the gunman into custody, News 12 is told another man started approaching them.
Investigators say the man approaching them matched the original description of the person they were looking for with a gun.
NYPD Chief of Department Terence Monahan said the officers gave commands to the individual to back up and show his hands. He said the man then rushed toward the officers who discharged a firearm two times and shot the man in the leg.
He was then rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. Police say he is in stable condition.
At this time neither of the men taken into custody have been charged.
