Officials say they found the 47-year-old victim around Parkside and Ocean avenues just after 2 a.m.
They say the man was shot twice in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene when Emergency Medical Services arrived.
His identity has not been released.
A portion of the park's entrance has been roped off as investigators continue to monitor the crime scene.
News 12 is told no arrests have been made at this time.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
