The NYPD says one man was fatally shot and another was injured at Miguel's West Indian Restaurant in Brooklyn.
Police say neighbors heard multiple gunshots fired around 9 a.m. and saw a black car that looked like a Mercedes driving off down Strauss Street.
A 46-year-old man was killed by the gunfire, according to police. A 45-year-old man was shot multiple times but is expected to survive.
Police have identified the victim who was killed as 46-year-old Eyon Johnson.
Surveillance video shows one person in a gray hoodie and another wearing black clothing walking to the doorway and firing several shots inside followed by a few more outside.
Police are still investigating at the scene at the intersection of Strauss Street and Lott Avenue, as remnants of the incident remain at the location, including broken glass from the gunfire and blown out doors.
One resident who asked to remain anonymous says the incident was terrifying for her.
"I hear only eight shots, and I get out. I see the car... and then it went on to Church Avenue," said the resident. "I was scared because they shot like next to me."
The motive behind the shooting is still unclear, according to officials at the scene who say that the location was formerly a restaurant and was undergoing construction.
