Police are searching for a man accused of
raping a woman early Thursday.
Police tell News 12 that the victim hailed
what she thought was a cab in Crown Heights and gave the driver an address in Clinton Hill.
The victim says the driver brought her to
Williamsburg and raped her.
Officials say the 23-year-old victim hailed a
black Cadillac at the intersection of Utica Avenue and Prospect Place and was
then taken to a building on Ross Street.
Police say the suspect held a hard object
against the victim’s back and led her into the basement of the building.
Investigators say she tried to fight him off
when he allegedly told her to take her clothes off and raped her.
The suspect is described as being in his late
20s, around 5 feet 11 inches and was last seen wearing white jogging pants or
sweats.
Police say it is unclear if the suspect is
actually a cab driver.
They say the victim hailed him off the street and not
through a rideshare app.
