Police: Man shot person riding scooter during apparent robbery attempt in Highbridge

A person riding a scooter was injured when a man allegedly shot them during an attempted robbery in Highbridge, police say.

A person riding a scooter was injured when a man allegedly shot them during an attempted robbery in Highbridge, police say.
The incident happened Friday just before 9 p.m.

Officials say multiple shots were fired at the driver of the scooter as they turned a corner onto Shakespeare Avenue.
The suspect then fled down West 169th Street.

Police believe that suspect was trying to rob the victim before the shots were fired.

The 36-year-old victim was taken to Lincoln Medical Center and is now in stable condition.
