A man is recovering in the hospital after getting shot Tuesday night in the Allerton.

Police say a 54-year-old man was shot twice in the back around 9 p.m. on Cruger Avenue by an unknown suspect.

The victim was transported to Jacobi Hospital and is in stable condition.

The shooter is still at large.
