A man assaulted an MTA bus driver while he was behind the wheel Tuesday evening, according to police.
The alleged incident occurred at East 170th Street and Teller Avenue.
Witnesses on the bus say the suspect threw a full water bottle at the driver's window. They say the driver immediately pulled over and called 911 for help around 7 p.m.
The bus driver went to the hospital with slight swelling on the side of his face.
Police say the suspect is still on the loose. He is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, Hispanic and wearing all black.
News 12 is told the bus where the incident took place does not have any cameras.
