At least five people, including an infant, were injured in a fire on the third floor of an apartment building in the Bronx Tuesday.
It happened at 1248 Clay Ave. around 1:30 p.m.
The nearly two-week-old baby was rushed to Bronx Lebanon Hospital and is expected to fully recover after inhaling smoke. The four other victims are also in stable condition.
The newborn's mother says the baby girl is doing fine and has already returned home.
A source close to the investigation claims the third-floor apartment could have been purposely set on fire. He says the family there has a history of domestic violence.
Neighbors say they heard fighting coming from the apartment, then saw smoke and quickly exited the building.
At one point Tuesday, police were questioning the woman who they say lives in the apartment where the flames broke out.
