Police officers exchanged gunfire with an armed man outside the Sumner Houses in Bedford–Stuyvesant Tuesday night.

Police say two groups were shooting at one another. When officers arrived, they ran off.

Authorities say one of the men turned and pointed a gun at the officers who then fired two shots at the man.

Police say no one was injured. A 29-year-old man was taken into custody. Police say it is unclear if he was the shooter.
