A search is underway for the man accused of trying to rape two women over the weekend.
The first attempt was on the Upper West Side in Manhattan and the second in Windsor Terrace in Brooklyn, according to investigators.
Police tell News 12 both attacks happened Saturday, just two hours apart.
The first attack happened around 11:35 a.m. inside the subway station at Broadway and West 72nd Street. A 36-year-old woman says the suspect blocked her from transferring trains, dragged her to the end of the platform and tried to sexually assault her.
Police say the victim fought back, scratching his face and he took off. But less than two hours later police say he struck again.
Investigators say a 25-year-old woman, who had boarded an F train at Jay Street, told police that as they approached the Prospect Park station the suspect punched her, knocking her onto a bench, got on top of her and lifted up her skirt. News 12 is told a witness alerted a conductor who came into the train car and yelled at the suspect who ran off.
Police say the victim was able to take a photo of the man she says did this before he ran out of the subway station. He’s described as being between 25 and 30 years old about 5 feet 4 inches and around 140 pounds. Police say he has brown eyes and short straight hair.
News 12 is told both victims were taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
