Police have released new images of a man suspected of following and groping a woman as she exited the 25th street R trains station in Greenwood Heights on March 16 around 11p.m.

The man allegedly grabbed the woman's rear and followed her out of the subway station before inserting his hands in the woman's pants, before fleeing the scene.

Residents in the area say the subway stop is a known problem in the area, that many residents now avoid at night.

"My 17-year-old daughter was followed, she had to change cars three or four times and was not safe when she got out because of how isolated it feels there," said resident Dana Gallagher. "I drive her every day now. I'm not letting her come back here at 11 p.m."

She says the stops are a known loitering location for occupants of nearby shelters, something she says has made the stop less safe.

"People are drunk, people are yelling, and we are looking over our shoulders here," she said.

Residents say they would like to see more police in and around the subway train platforms, which they hope can be a deterrent.

'I helped a man who was falling in the train car, he fell in, and he punched me in the face," said resident Manal Kermouche.

"I want police to do their job, take these complaints seriously and be there to prevent it not just after something like this happens, following someone how is insane," she added.

Police say anyone who recognizes the suspect, described as a man in his 50s with a medium build, is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
