The NYPD has released body camera footage from a police-involved shooting in Brooklyn that left a 65-year-old suspect dead in November.
The shooting took place in November when officers attempted to stop a speeding vehicle kicking off a chase where the armed man inside the car rear ended a police car on the Belt Parkway. Police ended up boxing in the suspect, and the suspect engaged in a gunfight in broad daylight as cars tried to make their way down the parkway.
In the video, police exchanged gunfire with the man firing several shots and ducking behind the car. After firing several times, the officers shoot the man and he falls to the ground. The shots stop briefly but he then fires again at police officers from the ground.
The 65-year-old man was pronounced dead at the hospital. He had seven prior arrests, mostly vehicular crimes in the past, according to police.
