Police are searching for a man who allegedly punched a 66-year-old woman inside a deli at Bainbridge Avenue and East 198th Street in Bedford Park early Monday.

The attack happened just before 3 a.m., police said.

Surveillance cameras inside the store captured the suspect, who was last seen wearing glasses, a black hat, a leopard-print jacket and black pants. He ran south on Bainbridge Avenue after the assault, according to authorities.

EMS took the woman to a hospital with bruising. She is expected to recover.

“Yeah, I’m getting ready to go in before dark, be home before dark — it’s very serious,” said Pamela Scott, a shopper in the area.
