Police are searching for three people they say brutally beat a man on a 6 train platform, causing him to fall into a moving train and then onto the tracks. This all happened Saturday just before 2 a.m. at the Elder Avenue station.

Devon Jones told News 12 he saw the three men run off after the attack. He said, "As they were running past me, I overheard them say something along the lines of oh yeah, I think he hit the train and he fell onto the tracks."

News 12 also spoke with people on the platform reacting to the news. One man said, "That's part of insanity, cruelty..."

Another man told News 12 he does believe people cause problems on the train regularly. Several people said they'd like to see more cops on the platforms, especially at night.

Police said the victim is expected to be okay. If you have any information about this assault, call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
