Police shared video surveillance with News 12 showing two individuals they say committed a hate crime at a gas station on Avenue U and Mill Avenue in Brooklyn.
It was reported to police that on Oct. 20, a 17-year-old was approached by the two men in a burgundy colored Ford van.
The first man proceeded to say anti-gay and anti-Jewish slurs at him from inside the van, according to police. The second man escalated the situation, as he exited the vehicle and displayed a knife to the victim while making additional threats, before the two individuals fled in their van north on Mill Avenue, police say.
The investigation remains ongoing by NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force.
