Police say it happened on April 3 inside the Popeyes at 1500 Bruckner Blvd.
They say a 24-year-old man and an unidentified woman got into a dispute with another man that later escalated.
They say the 24-year-old man and woman punched the victim multiple times, struck him with a wet-floor sign, removed $150 from him and then exited the location.
Police say the woman later returned to collect her food order. They say the man and woman then fled in a black four-door sedan.
The victim suffered a laceration above his right eye and pain and swelling to his head, according to police.
Police say he was transported by EMS in stable condition to St. Barnabas Hospital.
