Police are investigating after the remains of a newborn were discovered inside a DEP facility building in Hunts Point.
A DEP employee made the initial discovery of a leg on a conveyor belt in the building around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Shortly after, police confirmed finding a second leg at the location.
According to authorities, the two legs are likely a match, but medical examiners are still working to confirm.
Police have been seen canvasing the area, searching through nearby crates and garbage.
