Police are working to identify a man wanted for rape in the Bronx.

According to investigators, a 19-year-old woman was on a park bench near Park Avenue and East 183rd Street when she was approached by an unidentified man on Wednesday around three in the morning.

The man approached the victim then sexually assaulted her before he took off on East 183rd Street and has not been seen since.

This is at least the second reported rape in the Bronx in two days, brining attention to the rise of the disturbing crime.

A 33-year-old woman was punched in the face and raped along Broadway near West 234th Street in Kingsbridge on Tuesday morning.

Her attacker, identified as Nicholas DeJesus, was arrested and facing multiple charges for rape and sexual assault.

There have been 397 reported incidents of rape in the borough as of Sept. 14, 2025, compared to 298 at the same time last year. The last time the Bronx saw numbers this high was back in 2003, when 397 incidents were reported, according to NYPD crime data.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
