Police say they're searching for a man who stabbed another multiple times in the stomach in Soundview.

They say the suspect ran up from the street on Lafayette Avenue and punched the victim in the face, knocking him to the ground. The suspect then stabbed the man.

Officials say the victim was brought to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and is expected to recover.

Police say the suspect is described as standing about 6 feet tall, with a beard.
