A 61-year-old man was struck and killed by a box truck this morning, according to police.
Police say the man was sleeping underneath the vehicle on Coster Avenue in Hunts Point.
The accident happened at 7:15 a.m.
The male driver got into the vehicle, and when he drove off, the truck ran over the 61-year-old victim, sources say.
Investigators say he suffered injuries to his head and body.
The victim was transported to Lincoln hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with police during the investigation.
