Bars across the state are required to close at 10 p.m. and private gatherings are capped at 10 in an effort to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Laurie Ucciardo, of Melville, says she'll be following state guidelines and keeping her Thanksgiving small.
Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone says police will be out making sure bars and restaurants are complying with the 10 p.m. coronavirus-related curfew and will continue responding to any complaints made about gatherings of more than 10 people at private homes.
"My life is worth more than that. I don't think it's overstepping to ask people, for this season, to just step back and keep it among themselves," said Kathy Pond, of Islandia.
Ucciardo says she is unsure how she feels about enforcing the COVID-19 restrictions.
Nassau officials say they will continue to look into any complaints of large gatherings as well.
