Suffolk County Police detectives are investigating, after two men were shot in the parking lot of the Lidl Supermarket in Center Moriches, at approximately 4:05 p.m. on Sunday.
The shooting took place in the parking lot and not inside the store.
The incident is still under investigation, and there are currently no suspects.
Witnesses say it was a dispute between several men in the parking lot and suddenly a gun was pulled.
Center Moriches resident Reese Lawrence-Schero saw one man on the ground and ran to help. He has medical training and says his instincts just kicked in.
He said, " I saw him laying there and I had to apply pressure right on that wound. That was the strongest reflex I had... I just had to go run right to him and just hold as much blood in as possible."
One person who was shot was flown to an area hospital in serious condition.
Then, just about two miles away, Suffolk police say a car crashed along the side of Montauk Highway.
Witnesses tell News 12 they believe the car came from the Lidl supermarket and the person inside was also shot.
While Suffolk County Police crime scene investigators continue to collect evidence from the scene, some people who saw the aftermath of the shootings say they never want to see something like that again.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Suffolk Crimestoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
