'I will never forget this day': Community mourns Brooklyn woman found dead at apartment building

Friends and family are mourning a woman from Brooklyn who was fatally shot early this morning inside of an apartment building in Brownsville.

Friends and family are mourning a woman from Brooklyn who was fatally shot early this morning inside of an apartment building in Brownsville.
Police say they found a woman's body with multiple gunshot wounds inside of the 165 Rockaway Parkway apartment building around 1:17 a.m. after a report of shots fired.
The 42-year-old woman identified as Hope was found inside the lobby of the building unconscious and unresponsive. She was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
"I will never forget this day. Never, ever forget this day that what happened to her," says LB, a cousin of the victim.
Friends and family described Hope as a loving person who didn't bother anyone.
"She was always caring. She would always have good words to tell me when I was in a bad mood, and she was very smart," LB says.
Police have not made any arrests in connection to this shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.
