Police say a woman was killed and two people were seriously wounded Friday evening in a multicar crash in Dix Hills.

Officers say 63-year-old Donna Locicero, of Dix Hills, was driving westbound in a Nissan on Vanderbilt Parkway just after 5 p.m. near Village Hill Drive.

Police say that's when her vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with a sedan. They say one of those cars then rammed into a Volvo SUV that was also heading eastbound.

Locicero was the only person in the Nissan. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two people inside the sedan were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, while the driver of the Volvo was not injured.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
