Police say a man is facing several charges after a woman was stabbed multiple times in Prospect Heights. 

The incident happened around 2 a.m. on Lincoln Place.

Police say the 25-year-old woman is in serious condition in the hospital.

Officials are charging 24-year-old Tyler Walters with assault, stalking and acting in an injurious manner to kids.

Reports say the man is the victim's ex-boyfriend, while police say her two children may have also been involved.

it is still unclear though if he is the father of the children.

The Administration for Children's Services is also investigating this case.
