A popular Bronx restaurant known for its gourmet burgers has temporarily closed its doors after being broken into and robbed early Saturday morning.

Milk Burger on Bruckner Boulevard was broken into around 3:30 a.m. Owner Eric Mayor says he found the front door broken and shattered glass on the street.

He says a surveillance camera taped the robbery. Mayor says around $1,000 was stolen.

Milk Burger will be closed until Tuesday to repair the damage.
