LaLota, a former Amityville Trustee and Suffolk County Legislator Bridget
Fleming, of Southampton, are now battling to represent the newly redrawn
district. It was left vacant by Congressman Lee Zeldin, who is running to try
to unseat Gov. Kathy Hochul.
