Small businesses do not feel supported by local policy, according to the latest Small Business Expo report. News 12's Heather Fordham sits down with David Estrada, the executive director of the Sunset Park Business Improvement District, about the current state of small businesses in NYC.

Rikers Island must close by August 2027, meaning that borough-based jails will need to be open in time to house those in custody. Darren Mack, co-director of the Freedom Agenda, and Tara Brown-Arnell, director of BronxConnect, discuss the first 100 days of Mayor Zohran Mamdani's term in office and the timeline of Rikers Island.

Mack says each day Rikers Island remains open it increases the risk that someone could lose their life. He looks forward to working with the administration to push things forward.
