Power has been restored for thousands of Co-op City residents that were left in the dark after a power outage Tuesday.
Residents in 10 buildings were without heat, electricity and hot water for almost six hours. Co-op City?s management, Riverbay Corporation, says a main transformer failed. Electricity was restored to the buildings by mid-morning.
Residents say while they have seen the NYPD patrolling more since the Co-op City peace officers went on strike, it still wasn?t enough to keep them informed during the blackout.
