Prayer service held for fallen officer Reyes-Gomez

Thursday was the viewing service and prayer service for transit officer Ariana Reyes-Gomez, the woman killed on Monday in her home in the Bronx.
Members of law enforcement and the community said their goodbyes to Reyes-Gomez at the Riverdale funeral home.
Wednesday night in the Bronx was a memorial for the 31-year-old off-duty transit police officer where attendees sent prayers to Reyes-Gomez’s loved ones and called for an end to domestic violence.
The NYPD says Reyes-Gomez had been found in her Bronx apartment around 3 a.m. on Monday with stab wounds to her body. Police believe she was killed by her estranged husband, 33-year-old Argenis Baez who later turned himself in to police.
The prosecution at Baez’s arraignment this week said footage shows him forcing himself into her apartment that morning then leaving with a knife. He's now facing a murder charge.
The two have a 3-year-old child together. Police sources say Reyes-Gomez allegedly had plans to leave Baez.
He says his wife knew the victim.
Reyes-Gomez’s loved ones say she was a giving person who spent her life helping others.
