A Department of Correction officer was sentenced in a 2018 murder case on Wednesday.
Alain Samba, 47, was sentenced to 3 ½ years in prison for the fatal shooting of a 35-year-old woman at his Ogden Avenue apartment in the Bronx.
The district attorney says that Samba was off duty at the time of the fatal shooting, and just two days out from firearms safety training, when he pointed a loaded weapon at the victim and pulled the trigger.
Samba was found guilty on charges of second-degree murder in August.
