The man accused of killing a Bronx EMT worker was found fit to stand trial Wednesday by the prosecution.
Jose Gonzalez is accused of killing 44-year-old Yadira Arroyo last year when he stole her ambulance and ran her over. Police say Gonzalez was high on drugs at the time..
The ruling was only a partial victory for the prosecution. A court-appointed psychologist has requested another examination of Gonzalez to determine if he has the capacity to stand trial while he is on medication.
Fellow EMT workers say they don't believe Gonzalez, who was diagnosed with schizophrenia, is mentally ill.
One EMT worker says Gonzalez knew what he was doing and that he's just playing games.
Gonzalez is charged with murder, manslaughter and robbery. He is due back in court June 21.
