Suspected Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann has been charged in the death of a seventh woman.

The Massapequa Park man, who was arrested in July 2023, was previously accused of killing six women dating back to 1993.

Heuermann has been charged with killing Valerie Mack, whose remains were first found on Long Island in 2000. Mack, 24, had been working as an escort in Philadelphia and was last seen by her family that year in New Jersey.

Mack’s partial skeletal remains were first found in Manorville in 2000, about 50 miles east of where more of her remains were discovered on Gilgo Beach more than 10 years later. They were unidentified until genetic testing revealed Mack’s identity in 2020.

“Your honor, I am not guilty of any of these charges," Heuermann told a judge Tuesday.

Suffolk District Attorney Ray Tierney says human hair found with Mack’s remains was sent for testing earlier this year and found to be a likely match with the genetic profile of Heuermann’s daughter. His daughter is not accused of any wrongdoing and would have been 3 or 4 years old when Mack died.

Heuermann last appeared in court on Oct. 16 where Brown argued to exclude certain DNA evidence from the trial. Judge Mazzei told prosecutors he wanted to see all discovery turned over to Brown by today.

AP wires contributed to this report.
