The Wildlife Conservation Society opened its doors to zoos across the city Friday after closing amid the pandemic.
The Prospect Park Zoo sees thousands among thousands of faces each year, and it’s hard to believe it’s been a 138 days since closing their doors.
The zoo reopened to the public Friday after the city entered phase four of reopening earlier this week.
The zoos will operate with limited capacity, but there are also changes to purchasing tickets which will only be done online.
New guidelines include social distancing, staying six feet apart from guests, a required face mask that must be worn at all times and avoiding groups in hallways, exhibits and pathways.
News 12 is told cleaning procedures will also be enhanced, especially in high trafficking areas.
