The decision struck down federal protections, meaning it's now up to each state to rule on abortion.
While other states are already restricting access, New York's laws remain on the books. New York allows those procedures up until 24 weeks of pregnancy or in the case of other health factors.
Thousands took to the streets city-wide with two of the largest rallies in Washington Square Park and Union Square.
More than a dozen states have already established laws banning abortions since that ruling was announced. Protesters said they are concerned that a woman's right to choose is at risk in other states.
