Demonstrators gathered near Bronx Supreme Court Friday as protests and marches across New York City streets continued.
Organizers say they are seeking to change the direction of how many protests are perceived.
Clipboards made their way through the crowd to get people registered to vote and they also handed out absentee ballots.
The Legal Aid Society phone number was also announced to help anyone in need.
With the crowd down on one knee, one of the leaders tried to name as many individuals as possible who have died at the hands of police before some broke down in tears.
“As you can see everybody that’s all here, we keep each other in check. Granted we have some who voice themselves a bit more aggressively but you know it’s our right to voice themselves but everything here it’s— it’s not about the looting we’re here to show love we’re here to show the community does care about the community,” said organizer John Reubel.
