A special event was held in Fort Greene on Monday to honor those lost on 9/11 and to COVID-19.
The lost were remembered through the unveiling of dozens of newly bloomed daffodils, which were planted back in October by P.S. 46 students in partnership with The Daffodil Project.
"The Daffodil Project is the longest living memorial to 9/11 we started 20 years ago after a bulb distributor donated a million bulbs to NYC to honor the victims of 9/11,” said P.S. 46 Principal Maria Guzman. “In the spring they symbolize hope and resilience and so that's what we're here today to do.”
While it does serve as a memorial, the group also plans to use the area for read-aloud and outdoor classes.
