After being canceled last year, the
Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular with the world famous Rockettes is back.
News 12's Elisa DiStefano caught up with the world famous Rockettes, including 13-year Rockette veteran Sarah Grooms.
"Having the opportunity to be back, and to dance with these wonderful women and carry on that legacy, and then, after such a hard year, be back and watch that curtain go up and get to kick your legs up, there’s just nothing like it," Grooms says. "It’s just extra special this year."
In this year’s show, audiences will see even more of the Rockettes than ever before with the return of the Rockette routine "Snow."
The show includes nine numbers in 90 minutes, which requires the dancers to change nine different times from head to toe. Their quickest costume change is just 78 seconds.
As always, the Christmas Spectacular features the memorable "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers" routine.
"It has been in the production since 1933. I feel like this is the most iconic routine," says Rockette Tara Tubirdy.
"Here Comes Santa Claus," another fan favorite, also makes its return, featuring the Rockettes as hundreds of Santas dancing on the stage.
The Christmas Spectacular runs through Jan. 2.
