Residents at the Hebrew Home at Riverdale got to hear the radio voices of the Yankees and the Red Sox Wednesday ahead the pinstripes home opener on Friday.
John Sterling is the radio voice of the Yankees while Joe Castiglione is the radio voice of the Boston Red Sox.
Both spoke to the residents who have plenty of baseball memories themselves.
Baseball is important at the Hebrew Home, not just on the day when Yankees and Red Sox broadcasters were present, but every day.
The building has a corner filled with baseball memorabilia, it's almost a mini-baseball hall of fame. It contains seats from the old Yankee Stadium, a Yankee locker and even a piece of the outfield wall.
The Red Sox took the most recent chapter of the rivalry when they beat the Yankees in last season's wild-card game.
