A dense fog advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. Sunday morning for all of Long Island.
Clouds, drizzle, and areas of dense fog will make for a damp and dreary start to Sunday across the region. Periods of showers are likely through the morning and midday, and visibility could be reduced at times due to fog. Despite the unsettled start, temperatures will be relatively mild for early March, climbing well into the 50s.
Conditions improve heading into the new week as drier air and sunshine return Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures stay comfortably above normal through midweek before another round of unsettled weather arrives by Thursday, with renewed chances for showers. Cooler air then moves back in toward the end of the week.
