A New York City nonprofit is helping homeowners stay safe and comfortable in their homes.

Rebuilding Together NYC, supported by a $5 million state grant, is making critical repairs, including electrical work, roofing, and accessibility upgrades, for homeowners who can’t afford the work themselves.

Sarai Ortiz-Muniz from Hunts Point is one of many benefiting from the program. She says her mother will be able to enjoy a safer, more livable space because of the group.

The group aims to help 110 homeowners in targeted Bronx zip codes before the grant expires next year.

News 12 is partnering with Optimum and Rebuilding Together NYC to rebuild the Bronx through a $5 million grant for home improvements and repairs.
