Repair the World, New York hosted a number of service events to help improve local communities to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
On Friday, they held a painting and lot beautification event at the Brownsville Community Justice Center.
Some volunteers used paint to beautify the vacant lot down the street from the center, while others worked on painting a mural in the center's newly renovated space downstairs.
Some of the other projects included card-making, a cleanup effort and interactive Zoom workshops with seniors in isolation.
